Biotin/feed additives, food additives, raw materials
Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin B, also known as vitamin B7, formerly known as vitamin H or coenzyme R. It is a white or almost white crystalline powder or colorless crystal, slightly soluble in water and alcohol, and almost insoluble in acetone. It is soluble in dilute solution of alkali metal hydroxide. Its source can be chemical synthesis or microbial fermentation.
Biotin is an important component of enzymes that break down certain substances (such as fats, carbohydrates, etc.) in the body. It is used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency related to pregnancy, long-term tube feeding, malnutrition, and rapid weight loss. It can also be used orally for hair loss, brittle nails, infant skin rash (Seborrhoeic dermatitis), diabetes and mild depression.
